Terms of Service

By creating an account or using PoppyMeals, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

PoppyMeals is a meal planning service that delivers personalized dinner ideas, recipes, and shopping lists over SMS and Telegram. We help you plan what to cook and build your shopping list.

PoppyMeals is not: a meal kit service (we do not ship food or ingredients), a grocery delivery service (we do not shop for you), or a nutritional or medical advice service (see Section 9).

You must be at least 18 years old to use PoppyMeals. By creating an account, you represent that you are 18 or older.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. Notify us immediately at support@poppymeals.com if you believe your account has been compromised.

PoppyMeals offers one plan, Pro, at $20 USD per month, billed monthly in advance through Stripe.

Free trial: New users receive a 14-day free trial with full access. No credit card is required to start the trial. We will send you a reminder before the trial ends. If you want to continue, you add a payment method. If you don't, messaging stops and no charges occur.

Cancellation: You can cancel at any time from your settings or through Stripe's billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not offer pro-rated refunds for partial months.

By providing your phone number and opting in during sign-up, you consent to receive meal planning messages from PoppyMeals at that number.

Message frequency: Typically 3 to 5 messages per week during your planning window (the days leading up to your shopping day). We do not send messages outside your planning window unless you explicitly request it.

STOP and HELP: Reply STOP to any message to immediately opt out of further messages. Reply HELP to any message to receive help instructions. You can also pause messaging temporarily from your account settings.

Carrier disclaimer: Message and data rates may apply based on your mobile carrier plan. PoppyMeals is not responsible for carrier charges.

You agree not to:

• Use the service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the service
• Attempt to access accounts or data that are not yours
• Use the service to harass, abuse, or harm others
• Attempt to interfere with the service's normal operation or infrastructure

The PoppyMeals service, including its software, branding, and content we create, is owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

Content you provide (preferences, feedback, free-form messages) remains yours. By providing it, you grant us a limited license to use it solely to operate and improve the service for you.

No medical or nutritional advice. PoppyMeals is not a substitute for professional medical, nutritional, or dietary advice. If you have dietary restrictions for medical reasons, consult a qualified healthcare provider.

Recipes are suggestions. You are responsible for cooking safely, handling food properly, and verifying that any recipe we suggest meets your needs.

Allergen verification. While we collect allergy information during onboarding and filter our suggestions accordingly, you are ultimately responsible for verifying that every ingredient in any meal or recipe is safe for your household. Always read ingredient labels.

Price accuracy. Shopping list prices, where shown, are estimates. Actual grocery prices vary by store and region.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, POPPYMEALS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

You agree to indemnify and hold PoppyMeals harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your violation of these terms or your misuse of the service.

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which PoppyMeals is operated, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.

We may update these terms from time to time. For material changes, we'll notify you by email and/or a prominent notice. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
